Veterans’ Mental Health Transition,

Intervention and Liaison Service (TILS)
The TILS is for both serving personnel approaching discharge from the military and ex-forces with mental health difficulties. The service provides a range of treatment, from recognising the early signs of mental health problems and providing access to early support, to therapeutic treatment for complex mental health difficulties and psychological trauma. Help may also be provided with housing, employment, alcohol misuse and social support

Veterans Welfare Service (VWS) – South West

VWS is committed to enhancing the quality of life for veterans and beneficiaries of Veterans UK pensions and compensation schemes, and all their dependants via a national network of welfare managers across the UK and Republic of Ireland. One to one advice is provided by phone, email or home visit when needed. It also provides support to bereaved families and those responding to life events that present welfare needs. Veterans Welfare Service is now the first point of contact for veterans needing help with legacy investigations and inquests

Defence Transition Services (DTS) – South West

DTS provides information and support for those service leavers and their families who are most likely to face challenges as they leave the armed forces and adjust to civilian life. DTS is a one-to-one service, providing tailored information and guidance and facilitating access to support services, including from other government departments, local authorities, the NHS or trusted charities. DTS can be accessed via self-referral or through an external organisation, such as a charity or the Career Transition Partnership. Service leavers can also access DTS via the Chain of Command and their unit.

Shelter – Bournemouth

Shelter’s advice and support services across the UK give people one-to-one, personalised help with all their housing issues. Their solicitors provide free legal advice and attend court to help people who’ve lost their homes or are facing eviction.

Bournemouth Above And Beyond Trust

BAABT is an organisation that offers a support service and network amongst serving & ex-military personnel. It provides support for academic and vocational qualifications towards a chosen career pathway; water-sports polyvagal intervention therapy for the relief of anxiety, depression and PTSD and 1-1 and group support.
